Dr. Thomas Doe, Principal

B.A., Geology, Pomona College, 1971
M.S., Geology, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1973
Ph.D., Geology and Mining Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1980

Dr. Doe is the manager of the FracMan Technology Group, and a Principal of Golder Associates Inc. Dr. Doe is an authority in the fields of:

Dr. Doe is a pioneer in the development of fractional dimension type curve methods for understanding connectivity patterns, permeability, and storativity. His projects include both fundamental research in international facilities (Sweden, Japan) and applied projects (underground gas storage, low level waste facilities, landfill site characterization). Dr. Doe has worked extensively on interpretation of well tests in fractured rock to determine hydraulic and geometric characteristics of fractures. He also has an established world-wide reputation in the design of stress measurement programs for underground construction, having performed programs in the US, Canada, Taiwan, and Sweden. His major areas of work are in hydraulic fracturing and in hydraulic jacking tests for designing high-pressure water tunnels.

Dr. Doe is Vice President of the American Rock Mechanics Association., and a Principal of Golder Associates Inc.

Dr. Doe has carried out over 50 geotechnical and hydrogeological projects in fractured rock. Major projects include:
