1997 to date
Golder Associates Inc. Denver, Colorado
Technical Director, Hydrogeology

As Technical Director, Dr. Kroitoru is responsible for providing technical leadership in the fields of hydrogeology and geochemistry for groundwater, surface water and soil investigations, application of state-of-the-art technologies for environmental monitoring and remediation, and development and application of data management and GIS tools. Responsibilities also include domestic and international environmental marketing activities and professional direction and technical development of staff through project and program management.

1990 to 1997
Roy F. Weston Rockville, Maryland
Technical Director

Dr. Kroitoru was responsible for technical support on project requiring applications of state-of-the-art technologies and interpretative tools for support of industrial, municipal as well as governmental clients such as Lockheed Martin, EPA, NYC-DOS, DOE and DOD. Dr. Kroitoru was Project Manager for the peer review and geological data management support for Lockheed Martin Corporate, Burbank Project Office. He was also responsible for WESTON’s international marketing and consulting activities on various projects in the Middle East. He was involved with the support for the DOE’s Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM), on hydrogeological and site characterization related issues for the Yucca Mountain site. Battelle contracted him to consult during public hearings, on the siting of a low level nuclear waste disposal facility in Illinois.

1988 to 1990
Battelle - OWTD
(Office of Waste Technology Development) Willowbrook, Illinois
Project Manager / Principal Geoscientist

Dr. Kroitoru’s responsibilities as a Project Manager in Battelle included the management and direction of projects to achieve goals set by U.S. DOE’s Repository Technology Development Program for research and development of geoscience techniques and methods for high level nuclear waste storage in a geologic repository. While with Battelle, Dr. Kroitoru was also responsible for planning and conducting the hydrogeochemical studies of sites that were investigated for the Illinois Low Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility Siting Project.

1983 to 1988
The Weizmann Institute of Science Israel

During the course of research for his thesis, The Characterization of Flow Systems in Carbonatic Rocks Defined by the Groundwater Parameters, Dr. Kroitoru performed geochemical/isotopic and hydrological investigations and modeling, as well as hydrogeological field and laboratory analyses. In addition, he applied for and received various research grants.

1983 to 1988
Battelle - ONWI
(Office of Nucelar Waste Isolation) Columbus, Ohio

Project Manager

As a Project Manager his responsibilities included the management of hydrogeological activities for the selection of a suitable site for the isolation of high level nuclear waste in deep salt beds in the Paradox Basin, Utah and the Permian Basin, Texas. Activities included: proposal preparation for field activities, contractor supervision, technical report preparation, review of technical reports, client orientation, project set-up and cost analysis.

1976 to 1981
Tahal, Water Planning Consultant Israel
Geologist

As a geologist in the hydrological department Dr. Kroitoru was involved in the development of groundwater resources in arid and semi-arid areas, and in the Mediterranean - Dead Sea tunnel design. His activities included selection, inspection and consultation at drilling sites, conducting and analyzing aquifer tests, hydrogeological field mapping, hydrological modeling and groundwater resource evaluation studies.
