FlowDim

The concept of fractional dimensional flow is fundamental to understanding connectivity and permeability in fractured and heterogeneous rocks. Click here for information on fractional dimension flow.

FlowDim uses type curve analysis to determine the flow dimension controling flow at a range of distances from the hydraulic signal using in a single well or interference hydraulic test. The dimension at a given distance is refered to as a shell. The dimension in each shell represents a combination of wellbore effects (near the well), fracture connectivity, infill heterogeneity, local aperture, roughness and channeling, and boundary condition effects. FlowDim analyses can derive the dimensions for up to three simultaneous shells.
