FraCluster

Fracture network connectivity is the key to understanding flow and transport in fractured and heterogeneous rock masses. FraCluster provides a powerful set of tools for quantitative analysis of fracture network connectivity. FraCluster carries out the following analyses on FracWorks discrete feature network (DFN) models:

FraCluster Analyses Features Available
Compartmentalization   Graph theory search to identify compartments
  Convex hull volume analysis
Tributary Drainage Volume   Graph theory search of connected compartment
Rock Block Shape and Size   Block volumes by convex hull
  Block shape, sigma- and Z-factors
  Block volume by multi-directional spacing
Visualization (OpenGL)   Compartment as convex hulls
  Clusters
  Tributary drainage volumes

FraCluster is implemented as a Windows95/NT 32-bit application. The primary input to FraCluster is a specified FracWorks fracture network. For tributary drainage volume analysis, a well or well field geometry must also be specified. FraCluster analyses are discussed at the hyperlinks provided below.
