Workshops
The FracMan Technology Group provides public and private workshops that combine lectures, practical exercises,
and software training. Each workshop is customized to meet the needs of those attending the workshop. Typical workshop participants
include geologists and engineers in the oil, gas, civil, mining, and environmental fields.
Upcoming FracMan public workshops:
September 14-15, 2010: Stockholm Sweden ($US 2000, 2 days)
The workshop will be held from 0830 - 1630 at the van der Nootska Palatset conference
center, located in the heart of Stockholm's Södermalm district. The workshop cost is $2000 US per person (paid in advance), and includes lunch, morning coffee and fika both days.
Course reservations and payment must be recieved by Friday, September 10. Participants should bring laptops for course exercises.
Topics to be covered include advanced GeoDFN and HydroDFN model construction and geomechanics modeling, with practical applications for radioactive waste disposal, environment, and tunneling. Advanced topics to be covered include new approaches for fracture data analysis, geocellular fracture modeling and fractal conditioning of fracture patterns, uncertainty analysis, tunnel stability, grouting, and fracture propagation. Participants will receive a 30-day software license.
